摘要: We evaluated the appropriateness of antibiotic prophylaxis administered before surgery at a major referral hospital in Shiraz, against American Society Hospital Pharmacists (ASHP) guidelines. Data on surgical procedure, choice and administration were gathered for all surgeries performed hospitalized patients during 15 days March 2010. Of 155 included analysis, 98% received prophylactic surgery; according to ASHP guidelines, was needed only 106 (68.4%). these 106, 8 correct regimen. The commonest regimens cefazolin + gentamicin (47.6%), (20.5%) cefuroxime (8.5%). Antibiotic continued 83% cases, while this necessary 37%. In 1 procedure parameters correct.
