摘要: Cancer of unknown primary (CUP) is a fatal disease diagnosed through metastases. It shows intriguing familial clustering with certain defined cancers. Here we examine whether metastatic location in CUP patients related to non-CUP cancers relatives based on the Swedish Registry. Standardized incidence ratios (SIRs) were calculated for by depending cancer their first degree relatives. SIRs high association liver (3.94), ovarian (3.41), lung (2.43) and colorectal (1.83) The SIR was 1.63 metastases abdomen when relative cancer. associated (1.44) head neck region relatives' esophageal (2.87) thorax relative's upper aerodigestive tract (2.14) (1.74). findings, matching relatives, could be reconciled if these cases constitute phenotypically modified lacking tissue identification, resulting from epitope immunoediting. Alternatively, arise genetically favored environment (soil) promoting growth both (seeds).
