摘要: Abstract A transformation from the normal elliptical shape of left ventricle that may accompany various disease states and be indicative myocardial remodeling, has not been completely addressed in part because need for a descriptor is independent chamber size. Accordingly, goal this study was twofold: to derive dimensionless echocardiographic descriptors are volume use these quantitatively compare ventricles were either size (81 ± 17 ml, 19 patients) or enlarged secondary idiopathic caridomyopathy, (194 61 46 chronic aortic mitral valve incompetence (196 67 14 patients). Two-dimensional M-mode determined descriptors, based on its width, length, area found volume. These significantly greater cardiomyopathy compared with dilated valvular incompetence, indicating had become nearly spherical. spherical observed incompetence. The ability classify patient as hawing cardiomyopathic by discriminant function analysis enhanced when both considered. In prospective using fractional shortening, we patients could classified having an abnormal shortening. clinical utility prediction remodeling needs determined.
