摘要: Extracellular vesicles (EVs) hold great promise as potential therapeutic carriers. EVs are biologically active, intrinsically transporting cargo between cells. Moreover, they can be loaded with specific for distribution and/or engineered to achieve enhanced uptake. Although studies have already demonstrated delivery using EVs, various challenges must overcome before EV technology is ready the clinic. Since properties of dependent upon their cell origin and conditions formation, establishing clear characterization practices essential ensuring reproducibility safety. Identifying methods mass production crucial achieving high yields necessary clinical trials. This review introduces current theory behind formation function, describes latest production, discusses future opportunities extracellular in delivery.
