摘要: The depth of sowing has an important impact on the seedling emergence, growth and yield crops. Uniform seeding is essential toward achieving higher crop yields. objective this study was to compare effect different depths cowpea (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp.) Seedling plant height, stems girth, number leaves per plant, dry matter yield. Asontem variety sown in a loamy sand soil at five (20, 30, 50, 70 90mm) replicated three times randomised complete block design two seeds hill 1.8m x plots with spacing between plants rows 20 60cm, respectively. Plant stand counted daily each plot after first emerged until stable count obtained determine percentage emergence. stem were measured once week for 7 weeks emerged. determined 65 days planting. Sowing effects generally not significant. However, 50mm produced highest compared 20, 90mm. showed that optimum cowpea, should be done 50mm.
