Obesity and hypertension in Australian young people: results from the Australian Health Survey 2011-2012.

摘要: Background Few studies have focused on the prevalence of obesity and hypertension among young people (ages 15 to 24).. Aim To characterise systolic in aged 24 years across Australia.. Methods Using data from 2011-2012 Australian Health Survey, a national cross-sectional population-based survey, we included 2 163 years. Risk factors were estimated using multinomial logistic regression. Results The increased 8% 15% through ages males, but overweight both 14% for females all age groups. Low levels physical activity strong risk factor males (odds ratio 5.95, 95% confidence intervals (CI)1.83 19.36) (OR 3.20 CI 0.69 14.87). socioeconomic status was associated with only (1st quintile OR 4.65, 1.97 10.99). Although low (4% 3% females), high normal blood pressure substantial, especially (28% females). Conclusions Overweight, highly prevalent people. identified as male females. Programs targeting participation may need be tailored differently females, focus during early adolescence adult life males.
