摘要: Effects of habitat fragmentation on the pattern occupancy by red squirrel Sciurus vulgaris were investigated in 46 isolated oakwoods Po Plain and 34 Appennines, where structure variables also measured. Presence was detected presence dreys. Logistic regression analysis showed that only woodlot size Apennines distance from nearest ‘source-area’ influenced species. No variable improved models Apennines. Interdependent dynamics patches a ‘source-sink’ are suggested for Apennine study areas, respectively. In more woodlots short-term extinctions likely to occur.
