摘要: Lung cancer heterogeneity makes response to therapy extremely hard predict. Patient-derived xenografts (PDXs) are a reliable preclinical model that closely recapitulates the main characteristics of parental tumors and may represent useful asset for testing new therapies. Here, using PET imaging, we investigated whether lung PDXs reproduce metabolic corresponding tumors. METHODS We performed longitudinal 18F-FDG studies on 9 different PDX groups obtained by implanting primary-cancer fragments harvested from patients into mice. The SUVmax each was calculated compared with tumor. RESULTS Tumor growth rate uptake varied among confirmed preservation individual characteristics. intragroup reproducibility measurements good. Furthermore, higher displayed rank order similar CONCLUSION reproduced glucose metabolism therefore promising early assessment efficacy.
