摘要: BACKGROUND Acitretin is licensed for and most commonly used to treat psoriasis. Little information exists about its efficacy safety in childhood adolescent METHODS Retrospective analysis of a group children adolescents (<17 years age) with moderate severe plaque psoriasis treated acitretin between 2010 2014 at Italian dermatology clinics. Patients were identified through databases or registries. RESULTS The study population consisted 18 patients median age 9.5 the start therapy. maintenance dosage per day was 0.41 mg/kg. Eight (44.4%) achieved complete clearance good improvement their psoriasis, defined as from baseline 75% more on Psoriasis Area Severity Index week 16. Three had three courses treatment short disease-free intervals. In patients, ongoing time data collection. mean total duration responders 22.7 months. One patient discontinued because arthralgia. remaining nine (50%) it ineffective. Mucocutaneous adverse effects occurred all but did not affect therapy maintenance.
