摘要: OBJECTIVE:To establish cardiac ventricular weights recorded during the autopsy of healthy individuals who died external causes, aiming at determining normality patterns in our population. METHODS:A total 94 hearts were evaluated Forensics Department city Vitoria, Espirito Santo. After heart removal and resection atria epicardial fat, right ventricle (RV) left (LV), including septum, separated weighed mass was indexed by height. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test used to distribution. Data are presented as means± SD. RESULTS:After exclusion 12 (possible cardiovascular disease detected post-mortem) 82 examined (52 males 30 females, aged 16-68 yrs, 31±12 yrs). weight LV 181±25 g 125±15 g, RV 54±7 38±6 g; height 105±14 g/m 78±8 g/m, for respectively. P95 218 128 148 88 females. No significant correlation between age observed. CONCLUSION:The from sample higher than that reported contemporary literature. Our results suggest presence hypertrophy can be inferred > or
