摘要: Forty-one patients with Stage III and IV squamous cell carcinomas (SCC) of the head neck were treated preoperatively mitomycin C 5-fluorouracil concomitant radiotherapy. Operation specimen examined histologically, percentage vital tumor cells devitalized graduated. The grade regression was classified according to a four-stage scale. Tumor elevated as good (Grades 1, 2) bad (3, 4) response combined preoperative therapy. After follow-up 18 30 months, 14 41 have experienced locoregional recurrence; all these responders 3, radiochemotherapy. There statistically significant correlation between probability survival (P less than 0.001). authors conclude that prognosis pretreated SCC depends on histologic regression.
