摘要: OBJECTIVE Ethnic differences in fat deposition contribute to type 2 diabetes (T2D). Identification of biomarkers that underpin dysglycemia are needed for better-targeted prevention and treatment. METHODS The cross-sectional thin-on-the-outside-fat-on-the-inside (TOFI)_Asia study investigated adipose depots clinical as predictors fasting plasma glucose (FPG) insulin resistance (IR; assessed using the updated homeostatic model assessment IR) lean overweight normo- dysglycemic Chinese (n = 199) Caucasian (n = 158) individuals. Multivariate least-angle regression models were used identify FPG IR. RESULTS At similar age BMI, individuals had lower body weight but a greater percentage total abdominal tissue visceral (VAT) (all P < 0.005). In individuals, FPG, hemoglobin A1c , insulin, triglycerides higher, whereas HDL cholesterol high-molecular-weight adiponectin levels P < 0.0001). Raised liver enzyme peptide concentrations (P < 0.02) consistent with increased T2D risk. Lean women (<25 kg/m2 ) (kilograms) VAT than women, exhibiting TOFI profile, raised (P < 0.001) IR (P = 0.01). Risk factors elevated specific included male gender, VAT, (R2  = 0.33), risk amylin, C-peptide, glucagon  = 0.49). C-peptide CONCLUSIONS contributed both ethnicities, particularly characterized by phenotype, did glucoregulatory peptides amylin providing targets prevention.
