摘要: Mood disorders are serious diseases that affect a large portion of the population. There have been many hypotheses put forth over years to explain development major depression, bipolar disorder, and other mood disorders. These include disruptions in monoamine transmission, hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis function, immune neurogenesis, mitochondrial dysfunction, neuropeptide signaling (to name few). Nearly all people suffering from significant circadian rhythms sleep/wake cycle. In fact, altered sleep patterns one diagnostic criteria for these Moreover, environmental rhythms, including shift work, travel across time zones, irregular social schedules, tend precipitate or exacerbate mood-related episodes. Recent studies found molecular clocks throughout brain body where they participate regulation most physiological processes, those thought be involved regulation. This review will summarize recent data implicate system as vital regulator variety systems play role
