摘要: The concentration of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the human ovary and capacity a membrane preparation from same organ to bind [3H]GABA specifically were examined. GABA was found be 214 +/- 66 nmol/g frozen tissue (mean SEM six independent determinations). Moreover, single population high-affinity binding sites has been identified ovarian membranes. apparent dissociation constant (Kd) maximum (Bmax) 38.3 nM 676 fmol/mg protein, respectively. specific displaced by muscimol, unlabelled GABA, or (+)bicuculline, but unaffected (+/-)baclofen picrotoxin. present results show that an extremely high density GABAA receptor are ovary, indicating physiological significance this amino female reproductive system.
