摘要: The invention is based on the discovery that, for many drugs (e.g., antiviral or antimicrobial such as antifungal antibacterial drugs, including bacteriocidal bacteriostatic drugs) and pathogen strains viral, fungal, bacterial pathogens), a concentration of drug can be identified at which drug-resistant mutant are not selected. This herein referred to “mutant prevention concentration” (MPC). Maintaining serum concentrations above MPC throughout course treatment should severely restrict selection mutants. Additionally, it discovered that pathogens selected exclusively within window, termed window” (MSW). A quantitative expression this we call “window index” (WI), defined ratio MIC. window index characteristic given pathogen.
