摘要: Daily physical activity shows substantial inter-individual variation, and low is associated with obesity weight gain. Elevated also high intrinsic aerobic capacity, which confers considerable metabolic health benefits. Rats artificially selected for capacity (high-capacity runners, HCR) are more physically active than their low-capacity counterparts (low-capacity LCR). To test the hypothesis that counters thriftiness, we measured loss during three weeks of 50% calorie restriction (CR) in HCR LCR rat lines. At baseline, ate were LCR; this was seen male rats, where considerably heavier HCR, as well a set female rats body did not differ between lines, demonstrating effect consistent across sex secondary to weight. We show first time lose relative baseline. Physical levels declined throughout CR, pronounced LCR, yet some aspects remained elevated even CR. This idea contributes thriftiness food restriction, allowing defend mass, particularly lean mass. has implications diet-induced loss, genetic underpinnings individual differences diet, potential evolutionary opposition capacity.
