摘要: “If it were not for the great variability among individuals medicine might as well be a science and an art.” The thoughts of Sir William Osler in 1892 reflect view over past 100 years. role physicians making necessary judgements about medicines that they prescribe is often referred to art, reflecting lack objective data available make decisions are tailored individual patients. Just hundred years later we on verge being able identify inherited differences between which can predict each patient's response medicine. This ability will have far-reaching benefits discovery, development delivery medicines. Osler, if he alive today, would re-considering his art science.
