摘要: We determined whether (1) long term antigen retention is present in distal sites after footpad challenge of immune mice; (2) if retained the foot selectively localized; and (3) adversely affected by antigen. Mice or non-immune to human serum albumin (HSA) were injected hind footpads with 125I-HSA. In mice rapid clearance radiolabel occurred liver, lungs, kidney, blood urine but was feet, draining lymph nodes spleen. Non-immune rapidly cleared from these sites. Autoradiography revealed that most feet flexor tendons tendon sheaths. Electron microscope autoradiography indicated associated collagen at surface, not cells cell processes. Radiolabel solubilized spleen could be specifically precipitated rabbit anti-HSA. Histological examination surrounding tissues did show causing inflammation chronic tissue damage. Nanogram levels elicit swelling sensitized even a remote site, immunized other routes against antigens swelling. Antigen on collagenous may induce hypersensitivity thus play role rheumatic diseases.
