摘要: We present a model that can be used to analyse economically optimal nutrient (nitrogen) stocks in agricultural lands. The is applied study cattle ranching humid Costa Rica. numerical results indicate that, for current meat prices and discount rate, it privately 'mine' soil nitrogen. In the long run, efficiency consistent with degraded abandoned pastures, as observed region. Sustainable pasture management efficient only rate close zero or at about twice highest recorded value 1985-1997. highlight potential conflict between sustainability economic efficiency. Caveats externalities are not included our discussed.
