摘要: PURPOSE To explore the expression and function of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) on human uveal melanoma cells. METHODS Five cell lines were examined by flow cytometry for EGFR. The correlation between EGFR metastasis cells was tested in a nude mouse model intraocular melanoma. effect liver homing blood-borne tracing fate radiolabeled treated with anti-EGFR monoclonal antibody. capacity to inhibit cytotoxic effects tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) determined vitro. role promoting metastatic disease studied infusing melanoma-bearing mice using neutralizing antibody against RESULTS expressed varying degrees all eight lines. Expression correlated potential localize liver. rendered resistant cytolytic TNF-alpha. Blocking increased susceptibility TNF-mediated cytolysis, inhibited metastases, prolonged host survival. CONCLUSIONS five is an liver, resistance lysis, decreased Targeting may be fruitful strategy managing patients
