摘要: Uveal melanoma (UM) is the most frequent primary intraocular tumor in adult humans. Despite significant advances diagnosis and treatment of UM last decades, prognosis sufferers still poor. Metastatic liver disease leading cause death can develop after a long disease-free interval, suggesting presence occult micrometastasis. Proteomics technology has opened new opportunities for elucidating molecular mechanism complex diseases, such as cancer. This article will review recent developments biomarker discovery research by proteomics. In few years, first proteomics-based analyses have been launched, yielding promising results. An update on this field presented.
