Writing Across the Curriculum in a College of Business and Economics

摘要: A recent study examined how written communication concepts and skills have been integrated into core courses in the College of Business Economics at California State University, Northridge. Writing-across-the-curriculum programs met with mixed success. We wanted to see elements such a program were working our university. Through survey faculty, we found pres ence both formal informal writing policies, differences standards for writ ing upper-division courses, assignments, assess ment strategies results assessments, and, finally, perceptions about whether WAC is good idea. In general, faculty do provide opportunities students write, but many feel write poorly thus can handle only easy consider themselves ineffec tive teachers writing.
