摘要: Fusarium fujikuroi produces a variety of secondary metabolites, which polyketides form the most diverse group. Among these are highly pigmented naphthoquinones, have been shown to possess different functional properties for fungus. A group related fusarubin, were identified in spp. more than 60 years ago, but neither genes responsible their formation nor biological function has discovered date. In addition, although it is known that sexual fruiting bodies progeny fungus develops darkly colored by polyketide synthase (PKS)-derived pigment, structure this pigment never elucidated. Here we present data link fusarubin-type defined gene cluster, designate fsr, and demonstrate fusarubins pigments coloration perithecia.
