摘要: Helicobacter pylori infection plays a crucial role not only in the pathogenesis but also treatment of low-grade gastric mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma. The aim present study was to evaluate whether H. eradication provides definite cure early stage this neoplasia by means prolonged follow-up. All patients affected MALT lymphoma IE that were referred our department from January 1995 June 1999 enrolled prospective study. Diagnosis histologically proved and status evaluated. Staging performed according modified Ann Arbor classification. who positive for treated with eradicating therapy, clinical histologic follow-up carried out. Until 1999, seven lymphomas diagnosed (four men three women; mean age, 56 years). pylori-positive obtained all them after first cycle antibiotic therapy. Complete regression observed cases period variable between 3 6 months. 42 months (range, 20-54). Only one patient showed recurrence 22 associated reinfection. Our results show high efficacy determining remission IE. Thus, therapeutic approach may avoid or delay indication more aggressive therapies, such as surgical resection.
