摘要: Ultrafiltration in peritoneal dialysis is primarily an osmotically driven phenomenon achieved by means of solution made hypertonic to plasma addition osmotic agents. This traditional practice stemmed from early experimental work demonstrating changes volumes both hypo- and solutions the cavity accordance with laws osmosis (1,2). seemed confirm “semipermeable” nature membrane. Since small molecular weight solutes generate greater osmolality per unit mass, use crystalloids was considered as most appropriate However, amongst many evaluated (3), only glucose proved be safe well effective (4).
