摘要: RACK1 serves as a scaffold protein for wide range of kinases and membrane-bound receptors. It is WD-repeat family predicted to have β-propeller architecture with seven blades like Gβ protein. Mass spectrometry studies identified its association the small subunit eukaryotic ribosomes and, most recently, it has been shown regulate initiation by recruiting kinase C 40S subunit. Here we present results cryo-EM study 80S ribosome that positively locate on head region subunit, in immediate vicinity mRNA exit channel. One face exposes WD-repeats platform interactions Using this platform, can recruit other proteins ribosome.
