摘要: The advantages and limitations of automatic flexible endoscope reprocessors (AFERs) are presented. These medical devices can increase patient safety minimize personnel exposure to the liquid chemical germicide its vapors. Some models feature a printer document important reprocessing parameters, an in-line tap water filtration system reduce likelihood (and patient) contamination, heater satisfy elevated temperature requirements some labels. Although they offer significant compared with manual reprocessing, AFERs have their limitations. Current do not automate every step typically designed reprocess channel. AFER may be periodically decontaminated ensure that internal components support microbial colonization. Moreover, cost per cycle considerably more than without necessarily reducing overall time. Its notwithstanding, is likely asset in busy endoscopy center. In addition comparing automated this article addresses issues purchasing concerns.
