摘要: The aim of this study was to determine the effect age and sex on basal secretory patterns growth hormone (GH) hormone-releasing factor (GRF) induced GH release. Eighteen pigs (9 castrated males 9 females) were stimulated with pGRF(1–29)NH2 at 7,11,15,19 23 weeks age. Blood samples taken from each animal via jugular vein cannulate every 20 min, 6 hr before 5 after iv GRF administration a dose 4 μg/kg. baseline levels, amplitude peaks, area under peaks overall mean serum levels decreased (P<.001) in both sexes. Age also had marked GRF-induced release: response varied considerably, depending timing episodic endogenous secretion GH. An immediate (<30 min) observed when injected end trough period or beginning peak, but there no peak period. Our results show that pGRF(1–29)NH2-induced release declines age, suggesting sensitivity somatotroph cells age; high variability stimulation depends greatly release, thus implying possible somatostatin by hypothalamus.
