摘要: Intake of nutrients fundamental for optimal neuronal function is increasing interest. The potential importance omega-3 highly unsaturated fatty acids (HUFAs) optimizing emotional states, cognitive function, and mental health has been demonstrated in observational studies randomized controlled trials. Omega-3 (HUFAs), specifically EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), are concentrated neural tissues essential normative neurodevelopment, neurotransmitter, immune functions. HUFAs must be obtained from the diet, predominantly marine sources such as fish other seafood. also can found a variety dietary supplements (omega-3 esters, oil krill oil). As supplements, (fatty oils) differ substantially their physicochemical properties nutrient content. Here we present design methods Ranger Resilience Improved Performance on Phospholipid bound Omega-3's (RRIPP-3) study. RRIPP-3 was double blind, randomized, trial among individuals United States (US) Army Infantry Basic Officer Leaders Course (IBOLC) following US School training (RC) at Fort Benning, GA HUFA versus placebo supplementation. study sought to determine if supplementation with supports aspects functioning critical battlefield success when measured immediately after an intense combat simulation. Sub-analyses addressed basic improvements IBOLC performance. We describe additional outcome measures interpretation results, diet supplement use.
