Effects of omega-3 fatty acid supplementation on mood and emotional information processing in recovered depressed individuals

摘要: Beneficial effects of omega-3 fatty acids have been reported for several psychiatric disorders, particularly depression. Association studies show a relationship between intake and depression risk. Meta-analyses clinical trials shown moderate effect supplementation on depressive symptoms, but not normal mood states. Few investigated cognition. The purpose this study was to examine supplements cognition recovered depressed individuals. Seventy-one participants were randomized receive either or placebo four weeks in double-blind design. Results showed small aspects emotional decision-making self-reported states tension. Some the confounded by learning effects. No significant observed memory, attention, cognitive reactivity symptoms. While inconclusive, present findings may indicate that has selective participants.
