摘要: Abstract Two methods suitable for benzaldehyde trace determination in benzyl alcohol have been developed, based on reversed-phase liquid chromatography (HPLC) and derivative UV spectroscopy. The HPLC method with UV-254 nm detection allowed simultaneous of represents a convenient alternative procedure to the pharmacopoeial methods. Using diode array detector peak identity purity were easily confirmed. described second-order spectroscopic was found highly suited rapid traces determination, but attention should be paid possible interferences from substances (e.g. butylhydroxyanisole) absorbing over 280–290 range. Both proposed reliable at concentrations down 0.05% level.
