摘要: Campylobacter jejuni was isolated from stool cultures 14 (30%) of 46 patients with Guillain-Barre syndrome and 6 (1.2%) 503 healthy persons, the difference highly significant (p < 0.0001). In addition, serological evidence recent C. infection found in 5 29 negative cultures. Therefore, 41% were associated infection. Ten 12 (83%) isolates belonged to Penner serogroup 19, which is a rare sporadic enteritis. lectin typing study, all 19 strains shown contain terminal beta-N-acetylglucosamine residues on their cell surface, but enteritis not.
