摘要: Purpose: Small cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder is a highly aggressive malignancy with an average life expectancy only few months. Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) has been implicated in pathogenesis and progression many malignancies. This study was done to investigate EGFR protein expression gene amplification large series small carcinomas bladder. Experimental Design: Fifty-two cases were included this study. Immunostaining for on paraffin-embedded tissue sections, by fluorescence situ hybridization. correlated clinicopathologic characteristics clinical outcome. Results: All 52 patients, except 1, had advanced disease (T 2 or above) at presentation. Immunohistochemically, positive observed 14 (27%) cases. No any Forty polysomy remaining 12 displayed disomy. correlation between shown. There no characteristics. Conclusions: expressed subset carcinomas; however, does not correlate variables. At molecular level, overexpression seem be caused amplification. The raises possibility that may potential therapeutic target treatment malignancy.
