摘要: Summary The change in the land use pattern due to rapid urbanization adversely affects hydrological processes a catchment, leading deteriorating water environment. increase impervious areas disrupts natural balance. Reduced infiltration increases runoff and leads higher flood peaks volumes even for short duration low intensity rainfall. Due their destructive effects, floods can significantly expenses on mitigation efforts. present study focuses Thirusoolam sub watershed, an urban watershed Chennai. Land changes associated with are invariably reflected stream flow regime. This paper emphasizes integrated approach management, considering into model. Integrated Flood Management (IFM) aims harmonize human activities risks through appropriate interventions modify regime, adaptation of behavior thereby reducing such risks. Therefore, impacts should be considered effective planning. outcome would help formulating policy guidelines intervention strategies.
