摘要: Cytochrome P450 1A1 (CYP1A1) and glutathione S-transferase M1 (GSTM1)genetic polymorphisms are involved in the activation detoxification ofchemical carcinogens found tobacco smoke; thus they may influence hostsusceptibility to lung cancer. In this study at Massachusetts GeneralHospital (Boston, MA, USA) of 416 cases 446 controls (mostly White) weevaluated association between CYP1A1 MspI GSTM1 andlung cancer risk, their interaction with cigarette smoke. The MspIheterozygous genotype was present 18 percent 16 ofcontrols, one were homozygousvariant. null detected 54 52percent controls. After adjusting for age, gender, pack-years smoking, and years since quitting smoking, while neither heterozygousgenotype alone nor associated asignificant increas e having both genetic traits wasassociated a twofold increase risk (95 confidence interval[CI] = 1.0-3.4). Our data did not provide enough evidence substantialmodification effect on by CYP1A1MspI genotypes. However, limitations our preclude aconclusion about potential interaction.
