摘要: Abstract Pregnant hamsters were treated with selenite, selenate, and selenomethionine during the critical stages of embryogenesis. The dosing regimens oral, intravenous, osmotic minipump infusion. Malformations, mainly encephaloceles, noted oral intravenous selenite selenate but associated maternal toxicity manifested by inanition weight loss. Fetal body weights lengths reduced in a dose-dependent manner inorganic forms. Single doses above 77 μmol/kg induced similar malformations not when dose was delivered orally over four days nor several days. decreased manner. Maternal pronounced higher selenomethionine. Assigning specific teratogenic effect to selenium is confounded toxicit.
