摘要: The role of phagocytes and the complement system as potential host defense mechanisms against bacterial infection were studied in mice with two isogenic strains Yersinia enterocolitica serotype O8 differing pathogenicity because differences plasmid content. Complement depletion by intraperitoneal injection cobra venom factor did not affect course colonization intestinal tissue each strain, indicating that is essential for elimination these bacteria. This conclusion supported fact fresh murine serum had no bactericidal effect vitro either on pathogenic or nonpathogenic strain. However, well peritoneal cavity, only pathogenic, plasmid-bearing Y. strain survived, while nonpathogenic, plasmidless was rapidly eliminated. Since from cavity due to phagocytosis polymorphonuclear leukocytes macrophages, resistance vivo seems be decisive determining virulence strains. Images
