摘要: Many mosquito transmitted viruses of the genera Alphavirus and Flavivirus are human pathogens significant concern, there is currently no specific antiviral for any member these two genera. This study sought to investigate broad utility orlistat (tetrahydrolipstatin) in reducing virus infection several borne including flaviviruses (dengue (DENV; nine isolates analyzed), Japanese encephalitis (JEV; one isolate analyzed) Zika (ZIKV; 2 analyzed)) as well an alphavirus (chikungunya virus; CHIKV; analyzed). Three different treatment regimens were evaluated, namely pre-treatment (only), post-treatment (only) pre- post-treatment, three factors level infection, titer genome copy number. Results showed that all modalities able significantly reduce investigated, with exception DENV only regimen. Pre- was more effective number investigated than either or alone. Collectively, results suggest has potential a broad-spectrum agent against multiple viruses.
