摘要: Background: Colchicine has a known adverse effect on wound healing through its inhibitory tubulin-dependent cell functions and collagenase activation. In the cornea, it been shown in animal vitro studies to inhibit epithelium mitosis, fibroblast mitosis migration, as well reduce collagen deposition. The authors report two patients with corneal ulcers refractory conventional treatment while were undergoing oral colchicine therapy. Case Reports: first patient was an 86-year-old woman who had treated because of rheumatoid arthritis. She admitted authors' department deep ulcer right eye for which she 3 weeks local antibiotics without any improvement. second patient, 60year-old woman, hospitalized her left eye. receiving therapy mixed connective tissue disease. Treatment initiated but condition worsened, ultimately resulting perforation. Results: Withdrawal followed by rapid both patients. Conclusion: findings these suggest that may delay healing. are colchicine, cessation should be considered. Ophthalmology 1997;104:118-119
