摘要: Author(s): Conover, Michael R. | Abstract: Distress call playbacks are used as deterrents to keep birds out of areas where they causing problems. However, the calls often ineffective, owing birds' rapid habitation them. Recent studies on functional significance distress indicate that adult passerines only when physically constrained and designed startle predator holding caller into releasing it. Further, attract other birds, which approach acquire information about predator. These findings suggest would be more effective if their broadcast is paired with a model appears grasping caller. Such pairing should reinforce bird's fear delay its habituation call.
