摘要: Abstract Many species of birds and mammals are attracted towards some their natural predators, often without overt aggression. The biological function this predator attraction was studied in a colony herring gulls lesser black-backed gulls, with the aid models. More flocked above model when it presented together dead gull; also did not land as close to gull they alone. Having seen had clear effect on distance at which later avoided that particular ground them It is suggested predator-attraction enables animals collect information about potential enemy; experience conspecifics taken into account; subsequent behaviour depends partly information. increase avoidance respect bird may be an adaptation carnivores' habit surplus killing.
