摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter reviews the present understanding of medullary circuits that regulate vasomotor sympathetic outflow and cardiovagal tone. It illustrates some recent progress in this area integrative neurophysiology. Most concepts are based on results experimentation conducted under anesthesia but several components have also been validated by neurophysiological work unanesthetized preparations studies behaving animals c-fos protooncogene expression. These networks may be viewed from a reductionist perspective as embedded within hierarchy control systems include higher centers involved emotional behavior. Vast areas uncertainty remain competing theories mentioned. A yet unknown fraction spinal preganglionic neurons receive direct inputs structures rostra1 to medulla; however, individual is described almost certainly recruited supramedullary generate hemodynamic patterns characteristic specific emotions.
