The knowledge and considerations of the physicians regarding the inhaler devices in asthma and COPD: the INTEDA-1 study.

摘要: Introduction The present paper was aimed at indicating and discussing the possible problems related to inhaler devices by considering knowledge practices of physicians regarding inhalation therapies. Materials methods study is a prospective, cross-sectional survey carried out Turkish Respiratory Society Inhalation Therapy Group between February 2010 2011 with participation ten individual centres. Seven that were available on market in country assessed. data 684 clinicians actively attending patients respiratory disorders experienced daily clinical practice or their evaluations obtained through questionnaire. Results respondents, most whom pulmonologist (37.5%), pediatrist (38.1%), had been,on average, 11.6 years profession. source information inhalers administration techniques reported be mainly internet patient leaflets. Of participants only 18.5% have adequate proper techniques. Most stated they themselves provided instructions method often verbal explanation. believed although approximately 60% used drug correctly, 40.7% made critical mistakes adverse effects therapeutic outcome. important criteria which physians lay greater emphasis choosing physical capability, skills age patients. Conclusion awareness use fundamental prerequisite for effective therapy has been improved physicians. results shown more effort required professional training. Assisting physicans medical personnel training educational motivation are required.
