摘要: BACKGROUND: COPD guidelines advise on inhaled medication use, yet no advice is offered when to use and which type of patient could benefit from a specific delivery device. We investigated pulmonologists9 perception their knowledge practices with devices for management. METHODS: An online survey was designed by steering committee American Thoracic Society clinicians scientists conducted national market research firm between January 7 29, 2016. RESULTS: Two hundred five respondents completed the survey. Nearly 80% believed that they were very knowledgeable in management medications; 68% about preventing exacerbations. Ninety-eight percent stated at least somewhat devices. Many (70%) small-volume nebulizers more effective than dry powder inhalers pressurized metered-dose exacerbations, 63% these severe (modified Medical Research Council dyspnea scale grade 4). Only 54% discussed device options patients. Physician screening physical or cognitive impairments impact choices 53% 16%, respectively.
