摘要: The magnification effects of clustered matter produce variations in the image sizes and number density galaxies across sky. This paper advocates use these wide field surveys to map large-scale structure profiles galaxy cluster sized halos. magnitude size variation as a function angular scale is computed signal-to-noise estimated for different survey parameters. Forthcoming surveys, especially well designed space-based imaging will have high on scales about 0.1 arcminute several degrees. Thus clustering could be measured spatial 50 Kpc 100 Mpc. dominated by sample variance rather than shot-noise due finite galaxies, hence accuracy measurements limited primarily area, sampling strategy possible systematics. Methods based are compared with shape distortions contrasts complementarities discussed. Future work needed plan interpret outlined.
