Is Self-employment a Way to Escape from Skill Mismatches?

摘要: During the last two decades, skill mismatches have become one of most important issues policy concern in EU (European Commission, 2008). Hence, literature has stressed necessity to reduce mismatches. We contribute this by analyzing impact transition from salaried employment self-employment on self-reported To do so, we resort European Community Household Panel (ECHP) covering period 1994–2001. Using panel data, track individuals over time and measure their mismatch before after transition. Our empirical findings indicate not only that average self-employee is less likely declare being skill-mismatched but also those who transit probability Keywords: Self-employment, mismatches, employment.
