摘要: Bipolar disorder is associated with impaired decision-making. Little known about how treatment, especially lithium, influences decision-making abilities in bipolar patients when euthymic. We aimed at testing for an association between lithium medication and performance remitted patients. Decision-making was measured using the Iowa Gambling Task 3 groups of subjects: 34 56 euthymic outpatients disorder, treated (monotherapy combined anticonvulsant or antipsychotic) without (anticonvulsant, antipsychotic combination treatment), respectively, 152 matched healthy controls. Performance compared groups. In 90 patients, relationship different sociodemographic clinical variables assessed by stepwise multivariate regression analysis. Euthymic (p=0.007) controls (p=0.001) selected significantly more cards from safe decks than no significant difference (p=0.9). linear revealed that predicted (p<0.001) dose, level education family history (all p≤0.01). Because not randomized, it possible to discriminate effect medications. Lithium might be better A randomized trial required test hypothesis but other mood stabilizers, may specifically improve disorder.
