摘要: Abstract A simple technique has been developed which selectively separates late division and post-division cells from a culture of logarithmically growing, asynchronous Tetrahymena . The takes advantage the division-related cessation feeding. After 5 min exposure to minute particles tantalum, 90% population will have incorporated concentrated into food vacuoles. remaining 10% constitutes population. Centrifugation through Ficoll step-gradient non-feeding therefore less heavy feeding, interphase separated show peak at 170 ± 10 cell number is doubled by division. bulk DNA synthesis, as measured 3 H-thymidine incorporation occurs between 30 120 min. At least with respect generation time duration replication selection procedure leaves cycle unaltered.
