摘要: Abstract The size and polydispersity of insulin granules isolated from rat pancreatic islets by centrifugation on a linear iso-osmotic gradient (300 mosM) have been characterized quas-elastic light scattering photon correlation spectroscopy. separation the techniques was compared directly to isolation discontinuous gradients hypertonic sucrose (300–1950 greater efficiency assessed parallel measurements protein, insulin, cytochrome oxidase β-glucuronidase. Granules β-cells had mean particle diameter 342 nm, buoyant density 1.104, hydrated mass 23 femtograms maximal content 8–9.6·10 5 molecules pr granule.
