摘要: Abstract Protein expression by Haemophilus influenzae under iron-limiting growth conditions was examined. The five type b strains and four nontypeable studied all expressed a new protein of about 40 kDa when deprived iron during growth. Most also 31 the same conditions. Both 40- 31-kDa proteins were not cells grown in iron-replete medium. iron-deficient medium to which an excess ferric nitrate had been added, therefore it concluded that their regulated. These iron-repressed localized periplasmic space. amino-terminal sequences both determined. N-terminal sequence 40-kDa 81% similarity N terminus Fbp, major iron-binding Neisseria gonorrhoeae N. meningitidis. showed no homology with any known sequence. As plasmids found strains, these chromosomally encoded.
